CIMS is an Independent Practice Association (IPA) owned by 14 South Carolina Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), also known as Community Health Centers (CHC). The centers share the same vision for achieving exceptional clinical outcomes for the patients served while improving the financial position of each Partner FQHC.

Organized and operated as a Limited Liability Company (LLC), CIMS is a private, for-profit partnership established January 23, 2008 with each FQHC owning an equal share of the IPA and having one seat on the Board of Directors.
