Carl Humphries is the Chief Executive Officer of HopeHealth and has been employed by the company since 2000.  Mr. Humphries graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Three years later, Mr. Humphries was conferred with a Master of Social Work degree from USC.  Mr. Humphries began his career in public health in 1994 as a social worker. After four years in direct service practice, he served in a variety of leadership and management positions both at the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and HopeHealth.  He has 14 years of experience managing federal grant programs including Housing Opportunity for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), Ryan White and 330 FQHC programs.

Mr. Humphries has served on numerous boards and committees, including: SC Nurses Foundation Board of Trustees, the Florence Chamber of Commerce Board, Florence Rotary Club Board and chair of the community service committee, several HIV/AIDS service provision and prevention initiatives and various fund-raising committees.  He has graduated from several leadership initiatives to include Leadership SC, Leadership Florence, the Institute for non-profit Leadership at Francis Marion University and the Management Academy for Public Health at the University of North Carolina. His awards and honors include Edisto Public Health District Employee of the Year, SC Public Health Social Worker of the Year, USC College of Social Work Alumnus of the Year and SC Black Family Expo Non-profit Hero.
